A TRAFFORD fashion brand is coming through the lockdown period bucking the trend by winning three new wholesale accounts.

Uskees are based in Timperley and their background is in denim and casual clothes and for years they have been selling other people’s clothes and are making their own range of clothing.

They also want to create long-lasting, functional clothing which is designed for the 21st century and built to last.

Co-founder Paul Clapham said: “The last couple of months have been tough for everyone, us included.

“We’ve kept Uskees going with a skeleton staff that’s been really hard work, but it’s felt all that hard work was worth it when we heard last week that Working Class Heroes, Sneakerser and Minerva Streetwear websites are going to feature the Uskees range.

“We wanted to create a range that rallied against the pitfalls of modern clothing, without compromising the quality and design of the garments. Something that was made entirely for the modern day, without succumbing to the glut of unsustainable present-day processes and we are absolutely delighted at achieving success so far.”

Bosses at Uskees wanted to create a range that rallied against the pitfalls of modern clothing, without compromising the quality and design of the garments.

Something that was made entirely for the modern day, without succumbing to the glut of unsustainable present-day processes and we are absolutely delighted at achieving success so far!

It’s a message that is resonating with the public and retailers alike during the current climate. We are offering a genuine alternative to the outdated notion of fast fashion of very cheap clothing, usually of poor quality which are thrown away after a few times.

Paul believes the coronavirus pandemic has encouraged them to look at the way they work.

The 49-year-old said: “People have had no other option but to go online for their shopping.

“We have had to come in every day to keep things open.

“There have been horror stories for some small businesses and we have keep running.

“We are looking at online shows to get our product displayed on the internet and we have to think outside the box and use creativity.”

Paul started his career with Levi Jeans and has been in the retail business for 14 years.

He added that Greater Manchester and Manchester in particular are great areas for spearheading a revival after the pandemic. I have been living in the area for year and it is renowned for being creative and picking yourself up from whatever you face and coming through it.

“That is why is a great time to be in the area.”
