A CONVOY of trucks, motorbikes and cars wound their way through Southampton to pay their respects to the NHS.

With horns beeping and engines revving the South Coast Convoy were out in force to say thank you and happy birthday to the NHS.

Overall, 48 vehicles took part in the event including lorries, tractors, motorbikes and supercars.

It was organised by Jooles Harding from Christchurch, and husband and wife Glen and Leanne Attridge from Eling.

Leaving from Southampton dock gate 10 they looped around the Millbrook roundabout up Payne's Road onto Shirley High Street and made their way towards the hospital buildings.

Today marks 72 years since the NHS and social care system was established.
