A WOMAN who launched a shocking series of assaults on a number of officers, which included extreme racial abuse, has been jailed.
On Sunday morning police attended reports of a disturbance at an address in Sale.
Officers were asked to remove an intoxicated woman from the address, as she had became abusive and aggressive.
The woman then proceeded to throw liquid over one officer and spat directly in the face of another officer after kicking her in the stomach.
It took four officers to arrest the woman.
On route to custody she was then extremely racially abusive to the transporting police officer looking after her welfare.
Sarah Murphy, 45, was subsequently charged with one count of racially aggravated section 4 public order and two counts of section 1 assault of emergency workers was sentenced at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court.
After pleading guilty in court, she was sent to prison for 40 weeks.
