PLANS for all-day parties in the car park of the Trafford Centre have been submitted.

Trafford Council has received a licensing application from the owners of the popular shopping destination, Peel L&P developers, and it’s now out for public consultation.

Tickets are already on sale via TicketMaster for events including Car Park Theatre (including a performance from the popular Horrible Histories team), Car Park Comedy and Car Park Karaoke, all due to take place over the weekend of July 25 this year.

With summer plans likely to look very different this summer, the application to the council is to allow live music, recorded music, films, dance shows and plays to be performed on site, in theory at any hour of the day between 10.30am and 10.30pm.

Peel have applied for a catch-all licence to allow a range of events to run as and when they see fit between 22 June 2020 to 21 July 2021.

The application means family friendly events of this kind could be held all day, or at any time of the day in the Trafford Centre’s car park, if approved by the council.

If approved, the new restricted licence would allow activities including plays, films, live music and dance performances up to 10.30pm daily.

The opening hours for the Car Park Party 2020 series would be Saturday and Sunday 10:30am to 10.30pm and Mondays 10.30am to 11pm.

Members of the public can have their say on the current licence application until July 17.
