A cyclist who was seriously injured following a crash in Trafford has sadly died.

Police were called to reports of an accident involving a truck and a bicycle on Wheel Forge Way at 2.10pm on June 12. 

Officers attended and established that the Mercedes truck and Carrerra bicycle had collided at the junction with Ashburton Road West.

The cyclist – a 27-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he sadly died from his injuries on Friday 19 June 2020. His next of kin has been informed.  

An investigation is underway and no arrests have been made.

DC Emma Kennedy, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the cyclist’s loved ones at this devastating time. 

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision and, as such, we’re still keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage.”
