TRIBUTES have been paid to a cyclist who lost his life in a collision on a country lane last week.

Robert Eaves, 42, was riding a blue bike, which was in collision with a red Ford Tourneo Connect at the junction of Dunham Road, Paddock Lane and Warburton Lane.

Mr Eaves was taken to hospital with serious injuries and it has now been confirmed he has died.

In a statement, his family said: "Rob was a devoted husband, dad, son, brother and friend.

“He was selfless, kind and dedicated to his family and work. His enthusiasm for work was shown by his amazing career, where he was one of the most valued members of every team.

“Rob had always been a family man that loved finding new adventures; one being moving to Switzerland where the family lived a fun-filled life, and making friends from all different nationalities.”

The collision took place at around 7.30am on Monday, May 25, and police are still seeking witnesses.
