IT SEEMS with the recent lockdown easing slightly we are once more coming to appreciate what an asset our parks are.
Over the years, Queen’s Park in Bolton has meant something special for many generations. Families have enjoyed many a trip there with the yo0ungsters playing on the swings, slides and roundabouts while their parents watch on.
Originally Bolton Park it was renamed to mark Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1897. Features such as the Chadwick Museum (of natural history) may have gone but the 22 acres of Queen’s Park represents a natural oasis for the people of Bolton to enjoy.
