THERE have been almost 150 deaths from coronavirus in Trafford since the start of the crisis.

Latest figures from the Office of National Statistics show that 93 people have died in hospital, a further 43 have been from care homes, while six were at home, two were in hospice settings and three were elsewhere taking the total to 147.

In the area, there have been 687 confirmed cases of people testing positive for the virus - which ranks Trafford as the fifth-highest figures in Greater Manchester behind Manchester 1,334, Stockport 964, Oldham 943, Bolton 903 and Salford 866.

Latest figures also show that as of 9am on May 12, there have been 2,007,146 tests, with 85,293 tests on 11 May.

1,460,517 people have been tested of which 226,463 tested positive. As of 5pm on 11 May, of those tested positive, 32,692 have died.
