AN appeal to bedeck Bury in heartwarming rainbows - to pay tribute to the contributions of NHS staff and other key workers during the Covid-19 outbreak - was issued last week.

And Bury Times readers and their youngsters certainly haven't let us down over the past seven days, with their colourful messages of support being displayed prominently in front doors and windows across the borough.

Our e-mail addresses and Facebook site have been inundated with examples of talented young artists putting pens and crayons to paper and fashioning their own beautiful rainbows, large and small, a fraction of which are featured above.

Late last week hundreds of townsfolk also took part in an evening of applause for the NHS staff who have been on the frontline, helping to protect us against the spread of coronavirus.

If you know of a youngster who still wants to share their rainbow creation, then please e-mail newsdesk@burytimes.co.uk or log on to our Facebook page, @BuryTimes and share their work with our army of readers.

Some of the best examples may feature later on our website or in future editions of the paper.
