Firefighters have urged people to be more responsible after being called to five grass fires over the weekend.
Bolton North fire station were called to three fires on Saturday night, and two more incidents last night, where children had deliberately started fires in the grass.
At 1.30am, crews attended a bonfire behind Holden Mill, the former cotton works on Blackburn Road.
Watch manager Craig Cubbins said: "We know it's kids setting these fires because we see them all running away when the fire engines turn up.
"There were about a dozen little faces round the bonfire, why are they out in a group at half past ten at night when people are supposed to be staying inside?
"We always see a rise in grass fires when kids are off schools and it ties up fire resources when we're needed for emergencies."
Over the weekend, crews were also called to the fields of Sharples School, and Deakins Way, Egerton, to more deliberate fires.
Firefighters also spent over five hours on Saturday at the scene of a wildfire on Winter Hill.
Friday's fire tore through over 3km of moorland, and investigators believe it was started deliberately near the car park at the blue lagoon.
The fires come as the emergency services urge people to stay inside and only leave the house when absolutely essential to slow the spread of coronavirus.
