A MAN found sitting on the kerb told police he had been smoking spice.
Blackburn magistrates heard when the officers tried to carry out a drugs search, Hamid Patel became abusive and said he would slice the officer, his mother and his daughter.
Patel, 37, of Whalley Range, Blackburn, admitted using threatening behaviour. He was given a conditional discharge for four months with £21 costs.
Gareth Price, defending, said his client accepted the language he used was enough to make out the offence.
“He had been discharged from the mental health ward at Royal Blackburn Hospital just hours before this incident,” said Mr Price.
“He says he was sitting on the kerb minding his own business when the police approached him.”
