Two of the best loved and highly acclaimed chefs from the north of England - James Martin and Lisa Goodwin-Allen - will co-host an evening full of stunning food and wine at prestigious Manchester restaurant, James Martin Restaurant.

The 'Kitchen Takeover' event will take place within Manchester235 casino and will consist of five mouth-watering courses - prepared by the two celebrity chefs – with matching wines to accompany each course on March 25.

The chefs will then turn their attention to front of house where they will host the evening and take part in an informal Q&A session, where guests can quiz them on everything from their culinary skills and techniques to their personal passions and interests.

Lisa Goodwin-Allen is best known for being executive chef at the Michelin starred Northcote restaurant in Lancashire’s Ribble Valley. After joining Northcote aged 20, she became chef de partie after a year, junior sous chef the following year then at the age of 23 was named head chef, one of the youngest chefs to take on the role in a Michelin starred kitchen at the time.

She has also made regular appearances on TV.

Lisa was one of four winning chefs on season five of the BBC’s Great British Menu and has also appeared on BBC’s Masterchef: The Professionals as a chef mentor to the semi-finalists.

The ‘Kitchen Takeover’ event at James Martin Manchester follows the success of many other star studded events at the restaurant, where some of the country's most prestigious and talented chefs have visited the casino to prepare a fine dining experience for locals, alongside James Martin himself. Past guests have included TV favourites Glynn Purnell, Paul Ainsworth and many more.

James Martin said: "It's always an honour to prepare meals with my guest chefs who share my passion for serving the very best seasonal produce with unbeatable flavours.

"The evening with Lisa will be all about first class food and drink as well as some light heart chat about our passions and our culinary careers to date. I can’t wait to get stuck in!”

Lisa has attended many special events since her success on Great British Menu, including a banquet hosted by Prince Charles, where she prepared her winning dish from the TV Show.

She says “It’s always a little nerve racking preparing food outside of your comfort zone, but I get such a buzz from working with new people and presenting my flavours to new audience, I really hope I live up to my reputation with the people of Manchester – I can’t wait to meet them.”
