GIRLS and boys in Ashton-upon-Mersey are invited to take part in a junior talent competition at St Martin’s Church.
The organiser for the event, on March 6, from 5.30pm, is Alison Corser and she is Brown Owl with 5th Ashton-on-Mersey North District Brownies and Captain of 5th Ashton-on-Mersey North Guides, and she is also District Commissioner for Ashton-on-Mersey North District and Deputy Division Commissioner for Girl guiding, Sale.
Alison said: “The competition is open to anyone from the village area.
“There will be three age groups - five to six, seven to nine and 10 to 14.
“There will be a prize for each age group. Children are free to perform dance, poetry, play a musical instrument, sing, make people laugh or anything else.”
The idea is to raise funds towards the £1,200 cost of sending Alison to the International Jamboree in Poland in July.
The guides held a gin tasting evening and a Tesco bag packing day which raised £800 for Alison and two others to attend.
But this time the guides say they wanted to help Alison. Young people should e-mail guides.5aomn@hotmail.com
