AN exit slip road was shut after a fire started on the carriageway.
Traffic officers were called to the M60 clockwise slip road at Junction 6 for Sale and the A6144.
One lane was closed due to a fire, according to Highways England.
They tweeted at about 1.15pm: "Traffic officers are currently at scene. Recovery are on their way to the area to assist."
In an update shortly before 3pm they said that the scene has now been cleared and the road has been reopened.
