SHOCKING CCTV footage has captured the moment knife-wielding robbers burst into a Stretford shop before making off with armfuls of cigarettes, alcohol and cash.

The video shows two men wearing balaclavas and dark clothing entering the shop at the junction of Moss Road and Davyhulme Road shortly before 8.15pm on January 11.

They then brandished their weapons and rushed behind the counter to demand that a member of the shop's staff open the till.

After taking the cash, the men grabbed several bottles of alcohol and packets of cigarettes from the shop's shelves.

A third man also masked and wearing dark clothing then joined them in their thieving rampage before they all fled on foot.

Detective Constable Laura Floodgate, of GMP’s Trafford Division, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the workers at the store who were left in great shock but thankfully they didn’t suffer any injuries."

Greater Manchester Police are now appealing for the public's help to trace the three men in the CCTV video.

DC Floodgate added: "“The footage we have released today shows two men we want to speak to regarding this and we also believe there was a third man outside the store who we are also keen to make contact with.

“If any members of the public recognise anything familiar regarding these men, or if anyone was close to the scene at the time of the incident and remembers three men acting suspiciously around the area, then we urge them to get in contact with us.”
