ROADWORKS are due to start on a busy stretch of motorway next week and are expected to bring disruption.
Carriageway resurfacing works will begin on the M60 between junctions 15 and 18 from February 3.
The work will involve both sides of the carriageway and includes replacement of road markings.
It will take place Monday to Saturday between 9pm and 5am — extended to 7am at the weekend — and is expected to last around two weeks
Full overnight closures will also be in place for safety purposes between the junctions during various phases and at different times between the above stated hours during the works — although this will only affect one side of the carriageway at a time.
Similarly, associated sliproad closures and signed diversions will be in place.
A Highways England spokesman said: “Whilst we always aim to work to our schedule, unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather conditions may mean slight changes occur at short notice.”
The work is the latest phase of improvements to the motorway with another raft of works due to take place later this year.
