A DISQUALIFIED driver was caught behind the wheel the month after he had been banned.

Blackburn magistrates heard John Kimble Cryne was stopped at 10.25am and was again found to be over the limit.

Cryne, 61, of Glebe Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol, while disqualified and without insurance. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with 200 hours unpaid work and 20 days rehabilitation activity requirement, banned for three years and ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge.

Scott Parker, defending, said Cryne had been offered the chance to do some work in the cellar of a local pub.

"He had some heavy tools he needed for the work and rather than get a lift he took a risk," said Mr Parker.

"He had not been drinking that morning, it was a case of the morning after the night before."
