A TEENAGER has been left with serious injuries after a car he was travelling in careered across a road and smashed into a tree.

The 18-year-old man had been a silver Ford Fiesta when it crashed while try to go round a bend in Sinderland Lane, Altrincham, at 9pm yesterday.

The man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, but police say his condition is not thought to be life threatening.

Two other male passengers aged 18 and 19, and the 18-year-old driver were also taken to hospital with minor injures, but have since been released.

The driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving following the collision, and remains in custody.

Police are now appealing for people to come forward with information and dashcam footage relating to the crash.

Constable John Durham, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Thankfully the occupant of the vehicle who remains in hospital is responding well to treatment and we wish him well with his recovery.

“Officers are piecing together the details of what happened in the moments before the collision took place.

“Were you in the area at the time or do you have information or dash-cam footage that may assist our enquiries? If so, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
