Motown fans can rejoice this Christmas with the announced return of the popular Hale Barns Christmas Concert taking place in the Village this December, staged inside the iconic Holy Angels Church on Hale Road.

The ‘Hale Barns Christmas Concert’ promises something extra special this year with a Motown theme which includes award winning tributes and a full gospel choir which is sure to delight and entertain this festive season!

Award Winning Diana Ross tribute; Tameka Jackson will top the bill on December 21 returning to Hale Barns after a sell out performance at a previous Hale Barns Carnival in 2018.

Jackson has won numerous awards throughout her career for her tribute to Disco Legend; Diana Ross, and Tameka Jackson has worked with big names during her extensive music career including; The Temptations, Janet Jackson and Jools Holland.

Now, following rave reviews at last year’s Carnival, she’s returning with a specially curated show which organisers promise will be unlike anything seen before with a setlist which is packed with festive favourites and Motown hits!

Tameka will be performing alongside acclaimed Manchester Gospel Choirs who will be adding the Gospel Choir experience to those Christmas favourites.

The event promises to be full of festive fun and Event Organiser, Max Eden added; ‘We have got something very special planned for this year’s Christmas Concert on December 21 - I have wanted to bring Tameka back to the village ever since ‘that’ fantastic performance last year at the Carnival, and for this event, we have been working to create a soulful Christmas Concert with big voices and lots of energy, the rehearsals with the Gospel choirs just sound incredible and I can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on. Expect lots of festive classics, lots of Motown hits and a few fun surprises thrown in, it’s going to be fun!’

This annual Christmas concert is one of a series of events run throughout the calendar by Hale Barns Events with all being entirely not for profit event to fundraise for a new community Hall in the village, with a record breaking £100,000 being raised by their summer event in July this year, the team are on target to break ground next year and start the build.

Max of Hale Barns Events added; ‘It’s great to see the plans are now all in place for the new community hall and soon construction will start, once built - we will have a number of worthwhile community programmes and adult learning classes available which we will be able to offer regularly, alongside exciting youth projects and a fantastic venue to showcase local talent staging events throughout the year which can run alongside our big annual Carnival each July.’

The ‘Hale Barns Christmas Concert 2019’ is sure to be a festive favourite this Christmas on Saturday 21st December 2019 from 7.30pm at Holy Angels Church, Hale Barns with tickets priced at £15 each, available online at halebarnscarnival.co.uk and at Oxfam in Hale Barns.
