A DRIVER has been taken into custody for being over the drink drive limit.

The female motorist was arrested tonight after emergency services were called to a one-vehicle crash on the M60.

The incident occurred on the clockwise carriageway between Junction 7 for Altrincham and Stretford, and Junction 8 for Carrington.

The woman blew 109 into a breathalyser at the scene, police said. The legal limit for alcohol levels in the body while in control of a vehicle in England is 35mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

North West Motorway Police tweeted at about 6.30pm: "One-vehicle RTC M60 J7 to J8 clockwise. Police on scene with fire and ambulance. Female driver has blown 109 at the scene. Legal limit is 35.
