A LOCAL charity have been given the paw-fect Christmas gift after being chosen to receive a portion of the profits from a festive gin.

Dogs4Rescue, based in Irlam, will be given £1 from the sale of every bottle of a limited edition chocolate orange gin.

The gin, made by Salford-based Sis4ers Distillery, is available for pre-order now, at £28 for a 50cl bottle, and will be ready for delivery next week.

Emma Billington, founder of the charity, said: “We are delighted to receive the support of Sis4ers Distillery, a Manchester company who like ourselves is driven by innovation and family.

“Every doggy and farmie at Dogs4Rescue is one of our own and we work hard to create a pioneering rescue.

“We are in the process of creating a new visitor area and the monies from the Christmas Gin sales will help to pay for the visitor garden – the gin sounds delicious and our human team can’t wait to sample it!”

Dogs4Rescue takes in unwanted or abused dogs from around the world who face being put down.

Over 1,200 dogs have been successfully rehomed by the charity in Greater Manchester, with all dogs neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before leaving the centre.

The independent charity created a new model of kennel-free rescue in the UK, and were voted as the chosen charity for this venture by fans of Sis4ers .

The company chose five local charities, and put them all to a public vote after struggling to pick one, with Dogs4Rescue the winner.

Nina Collins, sales manager at Sis4ers Distillery, said: “We are all about local and we wanted to give something back to a local charity.

“Our Christmas gin seemed like the perfect opportunity as it’s a limited-edition flavour, and lets us work with local charities each year.

“We wanted something really different for this gin. We spend a lot of time together as a family and the flavour idea formed during our conversations about what Christmas means to us and we just knew that was the flavour we were going to go for.”

The first batch of the gin has sold out and the distillery, run by four sisters, is currently in the process of making more.

Bottles can be purchased at sis4ersdistillery.com until the end of January.
