GREATER Manchester Police has revealed the launch of 17 disciplinary investigations against staff in the last two years.
The data, given to the Parliament Street think tank from a Freedom of Information request, said all cases were a "misuse of force systems", with 11 investigations in the 2017/18 financial year, and six in the 2018/19 period.
DCS Jonathan Chadwick, head of GMP’s Professional Standards Branch, said: “As the third biggest force in the country, [GMP] will always ensure that all reports of misuse of police data systems by its staff are fully investigated.
"These investigations are carried out by specially trained officers within the Professional Standards Branch and referrals to the Crown Prosecution Service are made in all relevant cases.”
