DOLPHINS have turned up dead and alive across the Sussex coast in recent months.
Earlier this month a dead dolphin washed up on Hove promenade.
But this may not be a bad thing.
Rob Deaville, a member of the Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme which studies strandings, said an increase in dolphins washing up on Sussex’s shores could indicate more are flocking to our coast.
And a potential reason for that could be the Rampion wind farm.
“Because fishing boats tend to avoid wind farms, it could mean more dolphins are coming to Sussex because it’s easier for them to survive,” he said.
“The majority of stranded cetaceans we find are killed by ship strike or bottlenose dolphins.
“It seems more bottlenose dolphins could be coming to this area.”
