THIS close-knit group of ladies have made a 'purl' of a job of Christmas fundraising.
The Toy House knitting group have been busy making around 150 mini Christmas stockings to sell at £1 each in aid of The Toy House, a registered charity.
Organiser Carole Hatton said: "It needs funds to carry on its work helping many community groups and special needs/disabled people, as well as undertaking outreach work in schools."
The knitting group meet each Thursday morning at the Toy House in Irlam Road, Flixton, usually to make blankets, scarves and other items for homeless people who attend Cornerstone Day Centre in Moss Side and who also help people with mental health, addiction and other problems.
Since the knitting group’s inception just over two years ago, the ladies have knitted nine blankets, 99 scarves and 63 men’s and women’s hats with wool donated by the local community.
