A NUMBER of civic remembrance Sunday services will be taking place in Trafford on Sunday, November 10.

The borough will be taking time to remember service men and women who fought in both world wars and those who have fought and are still fighting in recent disputes.

The Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Rob Chilton said: “We all owe a great debt to those heroes who gave their lives so that we can live in freedom. Remembrance Sunday is the day when we come together to reflect on their great sacrifice, and I am honoured to be attending.”

Councillor Chilton will be attending the remembrance services in Sale and Hale.

The parade in Urmston will begin at 10.30am outside Urmston library. In Bowdon, the service will begin at 10.45am at the Garden of Remembrance on Dunham Road.

In Hale, the parade will begin at 2.55pm followed by a service at 3.15pm at the war memorial on Broomfield Lane.

Stretford, Sale, Partington and Hale Barns are all due to host services beginning at 10.55am at their respective war memorials.
