Police have removed a woman who "wasn't aware she couldn't walk on the motorway" from the M60.
The walker, from Cyprus, wandered onto the major road after getting lost.
North West Motorway Police had taken "several" reports of a woman spotted between Junction 7 and Junction 8 on the Clockwise carriageway at about 9.30am.
GMP's Traffic team attended to check on her welfare, and found the woman at Junction 10 where she was taken safely off the motorway.
The teams implemented a matrix, traffic calming measures that restrict how many vehicles can enter an area and the speed they can travel at, but roads should now be clear.
