THE Mayor of Trafford attended the grand reopening of the Kwik Fit Centre in Stretford after it underwent a full refurbishment.

The ribbon was cut on the Chester Road site last week, which was chosen for the investment from Kwik Fit's UK network of more than 600 centres.

The selection was due to the commitment the staff have made in serving the local area and as a sign of the company's confidence in the demand in the area.

The building was fully refurbished from the garage floor up and was designed to promote a more welcoming and customer friendly environment.

Kwik Fit say that their staff can now sit down with each customer and discuss their individual requirements, from a simple tyre check to a full car servicing.

The centre also now has specialist laser wheel alignment equipment that allows a car's four wheels to be aligned as per the manufacturers specification.

The Kwik Fit Group is one of the largest independent automotive, parts, repair and replacement specialists in the world, as well as the UK's leading tyre, exhaust, brake and MOT specialist.

The Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Rob Chilton, said: "The investment that Kwik Fit has put into the Stretford centre is welcome news for local motorists.

"It's commendable that there's an apprenticeship scheme in place to give young people a helping hand by creating jobs and giving them valuable career skills.

"I hope young people in Stretford will see the benefit and apply for the programme."

The company's apprenticeship push is a further investment in their company and communities.

With 200 apprentice places available, Kwik Fit is now encouraging young people who want to find out more about their programme to visit kwik-fit.com/careers.

The centre manager of Kwik Fit Stretford, Scot Conn, said: "It's given the staff a real boost that our hard work has been recognised and that our centre has been given major investment.

"All the team at the Stretford branch take great pride in our work and now we have a working environment that matches our ambition to deliver the best possible service.

"It's also good news for the community because we are now armed with top of the range equipment that will allow us to serve our customers even better than before.

"We are all really excited and can't wait to get going."

As part of the centre's celebrations for their new look, they are offering customers up to 50% off tyres on Saturday 2 November.
