BURY FC are once again up in the High Court this morning as the club's future hangs in the balance.

A winding up petition has been brought by HMRC and if no investment or takeover from Steve Dale is found the Shakers could be liquidated, bringing the club's 134 year history to a devastating end.

With their expulsion from the EFL confirmed, last week meetings were held to put plans in place for a phoenix club which could play in non-league next season.

Where the Shakers end up is dependent on a number of factors, including where home games would be played next season, and it is possible they may drop as low as tier nine — the North West Counties League.

An anonymous bidder, a North West businessman, has come forward, releasing a statement through Forever Bury urging fans to keep the faith.

But according to reports, their involvement is, however, dependent on which league Bury end up in.

Stay tuned to the Bury Times for updates on the progress at the High Court.
