IF you have ever gazed at the night sky in wonderment, Altrincham and District Astronomical Society plan to bring the cosmos to you.
They are holding an astronomical open day on Saturday, 19 October from 11 am β 4 pm. It will be held at Timperley Villlage club, Stockport Road, Timperley, WA15 7UT
Their chair, Peter Baugh said: βThe activities will include 20 minute talks by three astronomers repeated several times throughout the day. There will be telescope demonstrations and instruction, astronomical video and poster displays and astrophotography.
There will even be a planetarium to enable virtual observation of the night sky, to identify stars, planets and constellations.
Children can visit the kids corner with quiz, word search, cosmos, fortune telling and an alien drawing competition.β
The event will be opened by the Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Rob Chilton.
The Society has regular meetings and star gazing nights. For more information, see altrinchamastro.org.uk
