THIS year marks a special anniversary as The Royal British Legion marks more than 100 years since the ending of the First World War and the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. The Royal British Legion are looking for volunteers to support this year’s Poppy Appeal across the Altrincham area to help raise much needed funds.

A volunteer information meeting will be held at Altrincham Town Hall, Market Street on Friday the 4th October at 7pm where you can find out how you can volunteer to support this year’s Poppy appeal.

Jean Brookes, a Poppy Appeal organiser, said: “2019 is a special year as we remember those who gave so we can enjoy our freedoms today. The amazing support from the Royal British Legion continues every day for our Armed Forces community. Altrincham have always gone above and beyond to support us and we would love to meet existing and new volunteers to find out more about this year’s exciting plans for the Poppy appeal."

If you are interested in volunteering, but are unable to attend the information meeting, please email Jean at brookesj1@sky.com.
