PUPILS across Trafford were challenged to dress up as a professional figure or career in the STEM industry and learn more about future opportunities in this field.

Over 400 Year 6 pupils from primary schools including Acre Hall, Flixton Primary, Gorse Hill, Highfield, Kingsway, Moss Park, St Michael’s, Urmston Juniors and Woodhouse attended the event at Wellacre School.

The aspirational event welcomed future surveyors, mechanics, astronauts, surgeons, pilots and many more.

Some young pupils were inspired by icons in the field, such as renowned scientist Albert Einstein, as well as famous inventor and engineer Nikola Tesla.

Pupils visited a range of curriculum areas at Wellacre, enjoying a host of engaging, interactive and exciting lessons and activities, focusing on STEM themes to inspire learning.

Principal Miss Wicks said: “The atmosphere has been fantastic, there was a great buzz around the school as the wonderful array of young STEM professionals arrived."

She added: "At Wellacre, we want to show that anything is possible for our students and it was amazing to see so many STEM career opportunities represented."
