The attacker stopped the bus on Chatfield Drive in Birchwood at around 10.30pm on Thursday, September 19.

The offender is described as being white, between 5ft11 to 6ft tall and of medium build – he spoke with a Warrington accent and was wearing a black balaclava, a camouflage jacket and gloves.

Detective constable John Parry said: “The victim in this case has understandably been left shaken up as a result of his ordeal and I want to reassure the community that we are doing all that we can to trace the man responsible.

“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and I appeal to anyone who has any information regarding the incident to come forward. Even the smallest amount of information can be useful when piecing together a case.

“The same goes for any motorists with a dashcam who were driving in the area at the time of the incident and has footage which may help the investigation.”
