PLANS for 114 homes in Prestatyn have been submitted for formal consideration.

Macbryde Homes is behind the plans, for land off Alexandra Drive. The property developer has lodged their proposals with Denbighshire County Council.

The application seeks full planning permission for 114 market and affordable dwellings with associated roads, open space and infrastructure.

A total of 50 per cent of the homes will be open market tenure, and 50 per cent affordable tenure.

A Planning, Design and Access Statement, prepared by Barton Willmore, on behalf of MacBryde Homes, states: "The Applicant has engaged in pre-application discussions with Denbighshire County Council in advance of the submission of this application. In accordance with Welsh Government Guidance, it is necessary to undertake pre-application consultation for all 'major' developments. As this application is for more than 10 dwellings, it constitutes 'major' development.

"The site is located to the west of the settlement of Prestatyn and is located off Alexandra Drive. It is currently used as grazing land and extends to approximately 3.46 ha.

"It is bound by residential properties to the North and East, with a caravan park located to the South and Plas Newydd Farm and grazing land to the West."

Each proposed dwelling will benefit from its own private garden.

In June - when the plans were first revealed - Gwyn Jones, managing director at Macbryde Homes, said: "The concept is to deliver good quality homes for first time buyers, young professionals and growing families as we are acutely aware of how desperately needed these homes are to the local population.”
