A MAN who visited the flat of his partner in the early hours of (today) Saturday, although banned by a domestic violence protection order has been fined £50.

Paul Williams of John Street, Rhyl, was found by police to be at the home of Christine Ibbotson in neighbouring Bath Street, magistrates heard.

Defence solicitor Nia Dawson said Williams, who admitted the breach, stated that at the time his partner had been visiting a neighbour. Williams had gone there after hearing that she was without money, because their benefits were in his name.

Sarah Hughes, representing North Wales Police, pointed out at a special court at Llandudno that he had received a 56-day prison sentence for three breaches of a previous order. The present 28-day one expires on October 9.

Police had made a welfare visit to the flat in Bath Street and found Williams “sitting on the sofa in the living room and drinking from a can of lager.”
