After receiving dozens of nominations for the Parliamentary Pub of the Year Competition, MP for Rossendale and Darwen, Jake Berry, has narrowed the list down to two.

The winner will then be put forward to enter the national finals.

Mr Berry said: "There are some brilliant pubs across Rossendale and Darwen which makes it really difficult for me to choose one to nominate as my Parliamentary Pub of the Year 2019."

Constituents were asked to nominate their favourite pub, and from the dozens of entries received, the final two have been announced as, The Rose 'n' Bowl in Stacksteads and The Anchor in Darwen.

Mr Berry has now placed a photo of each pub on his Facebook page and is asking people to like their favourite one.

He added: "Whichever pub's photo on this post has the most 'likes' by 5pm on Wednesday September 25 will go forward as our local entry for Parliamentary Pub of the Year from Rossendale and Darwen."
