SEPTEMBER 25: Hotel Smokies Park, Ashton Road, Bardsley, a free MS Information Evening for anyone affected by the illness, 7pm. An opportunity to learn about the support offered by the Oldham Branch of the MS Society and the financial support and various therapies on offer. Refreshments will be available.

SEPTEMBER 26: Playhouse 2, Newtown Street, Shaw, educational documentary by Mercurial Pictures, 7.30pm. Harry is a boy who makes it to secondary school unable to read or write - an issue which has affected generations of Harry's family. The question is can Harry's dedicated teacher help him to overcome this and help him believe a better future is achievable? Q & A session following the film with Andrew Sutherland, Oldham Council's Director of Skills and Early Learning,
