CHANGES to bin collection days are planned to start next month.

The changes are taking place in order to deliver greater efficiency and reliability.

Trafford has seen significant growth in recent years meaning that the routes of the bin lorries were no longer the most efficient. The One Trafford Partnership has undertaken extensive research into how this can be improved and, as a result, many people will have a change in the day their bin is emptied.

The changes start on Monday, October 14

While welcoming proposals for a more efficient waste collection service, local Conservatives have concerns that residents aren’t being given enough notice of the changes. Cllr. Nathan Evans, Leader of Trafford Conservatives said “The new system could be confusing for residents in that there will be new bin collection days for most residents. Conservative councillors are also concerned that the plan is being rushed out with insufficient time for residents to be made aware of the proposals. Trafford Conservative will be keeping a close eye on the roll-out of the changes and are encouraging residents to look out for details of what it means for them.”
