A BRUTAL killer who murdered Breightmet mum Maggie Smythe will be sentenced on Friday.
A packed public gallery at Bolton Crown Court is expected for the sentencing of 40-year-old Christopher Taylor, who, last month, was unanimously found guilty by a jury of murdering his 29-year-old former partner, dismembering her body and attempting to dispose of her. Her head has never been recovered following the killing at the Red Bridge Tavern on January 26.
Taylor’s brother, 29-year-old Brian Ottley, was also unanimously convicted of assisting an offender.
Taylor will be given a life term but The Honorary Recorder of Bolton, Judge Martin Walsh will decide how long he will spend in prison and what sentence to impose on Ottley after hearing defence counsel submissions.
