Foodie fanatics are descending on Bolton searching for some of the best flavours, top cooking tips, close-up demonstrations by some of the country’s finest chefs, and live music, to name a few.

And the 2019 Bolton Food and Drink Festival is not disappointing.

Thousands of people have been flocking to the event for a taste of countless cuisines from the hundreds of stalls on offer. Among the festival favourites were the mouthwatering cinnamon sugar-coated churros with chocolate dipping sauce.

Mary Fitzgerald, from Tonge Moor, said: “They have everything you can think of, everything you could possibly want. The event is brilliant and the weather has made it fantastic; it just shows you cannot get anywhere better than Bolton if the sun is shining. The music has been brilliant. It is bustling and everyone is really friendly.”

Several music-lovers in Le Mans Crescent put in a special request for additional seating next year.

Festival regular Margaret Craig from Glasgow, who has been tying in the event with a trip to visit family in Bolton for seven years, said 2019 did not disappoint.

“It is just as good as ever”, she said. “The Hairy Bikers were brilliant. Every year you can see it getting bigger and better.”

Seeda Shafi, from Preston, was visiting the festival for the first time. She said: “It is a really multicultural event. There is a really good vibe.”
