THE Summer holidays have been absolute hell for many residents in central Bromley Cross, with up to two dozen youths gathering regularly.

The disruption inflicted upon residents includes: bawling and shouting from teatime until at least 11pm, with full-volume ‘ghetto blaster’ rap music as background; drinking and then wilfully smashing the bottles all over the well-used paths; sharing out large amounts of ‘hippy crack’ metal canisters and balloons and dumping the remains along with a mass of food and drink waste on the streets; vomiting into the mess and taking mobile calls to reassure worried local parents that they are with their pals and are quite safe!

A pity the parents have no idea where their offspring lads and dozen girls go of an evening.

Effective policing came to an end in the district some years ago due to ‘the cuts’ and Bolton Council abandoned street cleaning in the area also.

All of the above is happening in the back yard of ward councillor David Greenhalgh, who is the new (Conservative) council leader and the government he has supported for years hell bent on cutting back public services!

A vote for the Conservatives this Autumn for another five years of austerity is hardly a wise prospect, leaving the EU, or not.

Sadly, there is not much choice on offer to many I know and the feeling of being disempowered is great.

Ghastly really, as no national politician or party inspires confidence.
