An investigation is now underway following a house fire.
Fire crews were called at 8.35am on Tuesday to reports of smoke coming from the roof of a house on Guildford Street, Brierfield.
On arrival, firefighters found a fire involving a bedroom in the mid-terrace property.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel and triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire.
"The police and Electricity North West were also called and a joint investigation is now underway."
Luckily, no one was injured in the fire but there was significant damage to the property.
Firefighters were in attendance approximately two hours and 45 minutes.
