ALTRINCHAM Rotary Club has installed a new president, Jagdeep Singh Mehat, known as “Jag”.
Jag, aged 38, who was born in Dewsbury Yorkshire came to live in Manchester with his parents.
He works in the finance business and is an active Rotarian.
As an active member of the Altrincham Rotary he has been working on attracting more members to Altrincham Rotary.
The Rotarians get involved with lots of activities in the community from school projects , helping CAFT Children’s Adventure Farm Trust and arrange for Santa to visit Altrincham each year. Recently sponsored Altrincham in Bloom with 4 giant planters outside Altrincham Interchange
Jag has also been chairman of the International committee. Rotary is the world's biggest voluntary organisation with over 1.3 million members throughout the world. The big goal for Rotary is to Eradicate Polio since 1985. From thousands of affected people there were only 16 cases reported in three countries last year.
Jag says he "is looking forward to his year and to promote Rotary wherever he goes”.
