A BOUNCER had a glass smashed into his face during a fight involving three men outside a Burnley pub.

Police are appealing for information after the incident took place at Bees Knees, on Hargreaves Street, at around 1am on Friday, July 5.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment and two members of staff were also assaulted, resulting in one suffering a slash to the forehead. A fire door was damaged during the incident.

A 25-year-old man, from Burnley, was arrested on suspicion of assault – GBH and has been released on bail, pending further enquiries, until August 2nd.

A 23-year-old man, from Burnley, was arrested on suspicion of affray and assault – GBH and has been released on bail, pending further enquiries, until August 2nd.

DC Dean Briggs, of Burnley Police, said: “This was a violent assault which resulted in the bouncer at the premises having to seek hospital treatment.

"We have since arrested two people.

“We are now asking for help from the public as we piece together exactly what occurred. If you saw all or part of the incident and have not yet been spoken to by the police we would urge you to get in touch as soon as possible.”
