SHOPPERS will be able to sip champagne in the middle of the Trafford Centre later this month.

Manchester’s multi-award winning Italian restaurant company, San Carlo Group has announced its first San Carlo Champagne Bar is set to open.

The Italian family owned and run group which has 21 leading UK restaurants, including the high profile and popular San Carlo in King Street West, will open the doors to its new concept, a champagne and cocktail bar, at Selfridges Manchester Trafford store, in late July. San Carlo Champagne Bar will be located in the newly refurbished accessories hall on the lower ground floor of the store.

The interior will be a "celebration of Italian craft, luxury and beauty with a sense of softness and elegance" while "a sculptural and iconic 20 foot wide ‘cloud’ chandelier inspired by the warm effervescence of bubbling champagne that floats over the bar will take centre stage". The chandelier comprised of 1,000 individual cast glass discs, each one hand made in the Veneto region of Italy will glitter and glow, in contrast with the marble bar below.

The all-day venue will serve an expertly curated champagne, prosecco, wine and cocktail list, with more than ten choices of champagne and prosecco. It’s not all about fizz, the bar also looks set to offer a haven for gin lovers and non-drinkers alike.
