A MAN has been released under investigation after a woman died in Stretford.
Greater Manchester Police were called by hospital staff on Saturday after a woman, who had been taken ill, was discovered to have numerous injuries.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, died shortly after 1.50pm.
Officers detained a 55-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
A statement issued by police reads: "A Home Office post mortem examination was carried out on Sunday, July 7, and as a result further enquiries will be conducted.
"The 55-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the investigation has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
