THE price of petrol and diesel always seems to up and down but can you imagine paying the prices in this advert in 1979.

It was an advertisement for new petrol station at the Co-op Supermarket store on Brothers Street in Mill Hill.

Perhaps not the right headline with a 'Petrol Price Explosion' and there were also special opening day offers at 9am in January 23rd.

They included 4 star petrol for 74p, 3 star for73p and 2 star 72p.

It is also changed times to now as some modern petrol stations are open 24-hours a day whereas in the advert the latest it was open was at 8pm on Thursday and Fridays.

The petrol station also had a 'full range of oil and motor accessories were available inside the superstore'.
