A WALKING group has invited budding ramblers to join on five walks of varying difficulty.

Bolton HF Walking Club is asking anyone interested in wandering the countryside to join in, with four trips on Wednesday July 17 and a final walk on Thursday July 18.

The first day of walks begins with a journey around Belmont and Delph, this begins at 10.30am from the now-closed Belmont Bull pub, in High Street. It is six miles long.

Next is a seven mile trip from the car park of Witton Country Park, off Preston Old Road, also from 10.30am. At the same time, a nine-mile walk will be leaving from Yarrow Valley Country Park car park, in Birkacre Road, Chorley.

Finally on Wednesday, the longest walk planned is 11 miles and starts at the earlier time of 10am from the A6068 in Cowling, near St Andrews Church.

Thursday’s ramble is the shortest of the five, measuring just five miles and will take walkers around Glazebury, near Leigh. It begins at 7.15pm from the George and Dragon pub.
