THE ORGANISATION which runs the borough's ambulances has appointed a new leader.
The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has named Clare Wade as its latest non-executive director.
Ms Wade joins the service from the Royal College of Physicians where she currently works on the the patient safety strategy, including improving safety around medication, reviewing the national mortality case record and preparing the country's early warning system.
She qualified as an operating department practitioner in 1996 and before working throughout Yorkshire and the East Midlands in mostly surgical and anaesthetic specialties and endoscopy.
Ms Wade then led the maternal death inquiry and completed associated work with the confidential inquiry into maternal and child health for five years until moving on to work for East Midlands Ambulance Service where she lead the patient experience and PALS team and helped with the implementation of incident management software.
