THE outstanding achievements and successes of Trafford College’s students have been celebrated at the annual FE Student Awards evening.

Hundreds of people gathered in the Atrium at Trafford College Altrincham for the ceremony where Assistant Principal for Stretford and Stockport, Alex Fau-Goodwin, presented students from each of the curriculum subjects with a Student of the Year trophy, some of whom have bravely battled against adversity to achieve success.

Two students in particular were celebrating after being selected from over 10,000 students across the college and individually honoured with Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Yasmin Sze Wing Lee and Kelly Howard scooped the coveted trophies for their dedication and commitment to their studies, as well as contributions to charity.

Yasmin, played a huge part in the 'BEE in the City' campaign, which raised over £65,000 for the victims and families of the Manchester Arena attack in May 2017.

Kelly has overcome many personal struggles whilst juggling a young family. But her drive to better herself professionally, academically and personally means she has achieved every one of her goals

Mr Fau-Goodwin said: “It’s been such a fantastic evening where so many students have been recognised for their talents. I feel very proud to present these awards.

"The achievements of the students are testament to their hard work and determination and I’m sure they all have bright futures to look forward to.”
