WITH the two days of warm weather comes the folk who tend to want to moan about it being too hot.

It actually isn’t too hot. In fact, we could do with a few more days of 30 plus degrees weather to make up for the rest of the miserable year.

We British have that unique trait of moaning about good things as it helps us to undermine the other person.

When things are going well we want bad things to happen. It is almost as if we feel cheated that things are well, ‘okay’. The Tory party leadership is keeping us amused, the English football team are in the semi-final, the cricketers still have a chance to qualify for the next round and Wimbledon is about to start.

Theresa May is actually behaving more like a Prime Minister now she is not Prime Minister. She even scared the hell out of Putin.

Yet, this simply isn’t enough is it. We want some sort of crisis. It is warm. It isn’t hot. Hot is France at the moment or sub-Saharan Africa. We are just experiencing some warmish weather and come Monday things will have got back to normal.

In the meantime, we have the pleasure of seeing middle-aged folk walking around topless. I am against body-shaming as I have a belly myself but the supermarket is not the place to go all out. The supermarket should ban sandals and anyone else deciding to show off their feet.

On the flip side the shalwar bottoms and t-shirts have started making an appearance. If there ever was a more traditional way to dress then this was it. I am more likely to throw in the slippers too ensure I get the complete look.

To top it all off I heard someone say something that hadn’t been said since the nineties.

Should I really be offended if someone says ‘You should be used to this’ when commenting on the warm weather?

I mean, I’m all for turning the other cheek but on this occasion I had to make a bit of a stand - ‘Yes pal…I am actually used to it. Back in Lancashire it is always warm and muggy.”

I have never been so offended since the time I walked into a pub and some bloke pipes up: ‘Anyone call a taxi?’
